The Gifford Design Group worked with the Town of Jamestown to provide wetland services for this important public works project. Our firm provided wetland delineation services during the initial stages of the project. Once it was determined that the new treatment plant could not be built without impacting wetland, our office developed a wetland mitigation plan. Several alternatives were investigated, and some options were deemed unfeasible due to important artifacts found at the sites. The final result is a multifaceted mitigation project that includes both freshwater and coastal wetland restoration and that does not pose a risk to significant archeological resources.
